Michael Anthony Becerra (Duke)

Michael Anthony Becerra (Duke), age 53, of Chandler, Arizona, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 29, 2026. Michael was born on August 28, 1972, in Phoenix, Arizona.

Michael is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Sandra Herrera; his daughter, Jazmin Becerra; his father, Juan Arellano; and his siblings Rachel, Juanita, Tony, Xavier, Maria, David, Rene, Augustine, and JR. He is also survived by his beloved dogs, Chato and Zoe.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother, † Mary Ann Arellano, and his cherished dogs, † Smokey and † Susie.

As a teenager, Michael was a devoted sports fan. His favorite teams included the Dallas Cowboys, Phoenix Suns, and Arizona Diamondbacks. Michael was a caring, loving, and deeply thoughtful person who always put others before himself. His family and friends meant the world to him.

Michael was truly a homebody. Those who knew him best knew you could often find him relaxing in his backyard with his wife, his dogs, and enjoying his “Mary Jane.”

A fun fact about Michael: his nickname “Duke” came from The Dukes of Hazzard. His brother Tony Miranda gave him the nickname because, as a little boy, Michael would refuse to go outside and play—he was too busy watching his favorite show. Over time, he also became lovingly known as the “Duke of Earl.”

Michael will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm  with a Funeral Service at 12:00 pm at Whitney & Murphy Bueler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet Drive, Chandler, AZ 85225.
