Michael Alan Wells

Michael "Mike" Alan Wells, 66, of Chandler, Arizona, formerly of Peoria, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2026.

He was born on February 20, 1960, in Peoria, the son of Joe A. and Louise R. Wells. Mike was incredibly proud of his alma mater, Bradley University, where he earned his degree in electrical engineering. He dedicated many successful years to his career as an electrical engineer, starting at Motorola before bringing his expertise to innovative tech startups, including Sierra Research Technology Inc. (SRTI) and NextSierra.

Mike enjoyed working out at the gym daily and was a passionate cyclist who frequently rode 30 miles a day. He was a die-hard Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. Throughout his life, Mike adored his cats, Katie, Misty, and Sarah, providing them with exceptional care and affection.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Joe and Louise Wells.

He is survived by his sister, Michele Callaway (Jeff, deceased) of Germantown Hills, IL; three nieces, Megan (James) Weekley, Caitlin (Lee) Cleary, and Kirsten Callaway; his great-nieces and great-nephew, Lillie Weekley, Henry Joe Weekley, Quinn Cleary, and Camille Cleary; his aunts, Sheila Kilpatrick (Boyd) and Georgetta Noack and an extended family of many loving cousins. His former spouse and lifelong friend, Valinda Arbuckle, also survives.

A Celebration of Life is pending.
