Millie Dean Conrad
, 93, of Gilbert Arizona passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2021, after a short bout with pneumonia. Her family was by her side.
She was born to William and Rebecca Farar on January 5, 1928, in Hichita, McIntosh County, Oklahoma. She is the 3rd of four children. Millie spent most of her growing up years in southern Arizona and graduated from Yuma Union High School in 1947.
Millie was married to Gene Conrad in 1953 and they lived and raised their family in Flagstaff Arizona. Millie relocated to Gilbert Arizona in 1995 where her mother, Rebecca resided with her.
Millie was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings over the years. She also served a full-time mission in south Washington DC.
Millie had been a well-known beautician and business owner while raising her family in Flagstaff. She was also a very accomplished seamstress. In the last few years, she had completed hand-pieced quilts for each of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Millie was immensely proud of her family and leaves nothing behind but beautiful memories.
Millie is survived by four children:
Sonia Serrano of Gilbert, Arizona, William Conrad of Tucson, Arizona, Carla Underhill of San Antonio, Texas, and Gregory Conrad of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Millie was preceded in death by her loving husband in 1969.
Viewing will be on Friday, Feb 25, 2021, from 3-4 pm and the funeral service will follow at 4-5 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel at 1150 Elliot Road, Gilbert, Arizona. The burial service will be at the Flagstaff Citizens Cemetery 1300 South San Francisco Street, Flagstaff, Arizona at 2 pm on Saturday, February 27, 2021.
