Noel Clayton Rudd
, 77, of Gilbert, AZ passed away on July 18, 2018. Noel was born on September 23, 1940 in Phoenix to Fonda and Clayton. A proud native to Arizona, he graduated from West High School. He attended Phoenix College where he pitched in the 1960 National Baseball Congress World Series, opposing legendary Negro League star, Satchel Paige. He also pitched for the University of Arizona where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree of Business Administration. His baseball bonds lasted his lifetime. He served in the Air National Guard, and was a successful banker, businessman, mentor, and entrepreneur. His career accomplishments included being the youngest President of Southwest Savings and Loan at the age of 32, becoming fully self-employed at the age of 48, and retired at 58. He devoted his life to the success of his family, enjoyed traveling the world with his wife, Debra, and his quick wit and humor will be forever missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Debra of Gilbert, four daughters, Noelle Sanders of Chandler, Kym Hill of Gilbert, Shelley Cates (Robert) of Apache Junction, and Jessica Schwarz (Mark) of San Diego, five grandchildren, James (Scylla), Dustin, Brandon, Samantha, and Zachary, and one great-granddaughter, Freya.
The Memorial Service will be held at Bueler Chandler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet Dr, at 12:00pm on Saturday July 21st, followed by a reception at The Islands Club House, 825 S. Islands Dr. West, Gilbert.
