On June 5, 2022, O’Neil Joseph (OJ) Clinch, a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away at the age of 94.
OJ was born and raised in Sturgis, South Dakota. He served in the US Navy during World War II and went on to graduate from Creighton University where he met his wife, Jean. He began practicing dentistry in Belle Fourche, South Dakota. In 1963, OJ and Jean moved to Chandler, Arizona and started a new practice in Phoenix.
OJ was always busy. He enjoyed building and learning to fly remote control airplanes and gardening Phoenix Suns games were always a joy for him. He took his family on many summer vacation road trips that were always fun and interesting. He was a volunteer for countless organizations over the years. Hevolunteered many hours of dental care throughout the years atSaint Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix.
He is survived by his nine children, Sharon (Allred), Kevin, Maureen (Feuz), Patricia (York), Dennis, Brian, Casey, Teresa (French) and Jed and sister-in-law, Barb Smejkal of Omaha, Nebraska..
A memorial mass will be held June 13
th
at 11:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, in Chandler, AZ
