Patricia (Pat) Marie O’Shea
, née Burns, 74, passed away surrounded by her family and an extreme abundance of love and support on Tuesday, February 22, 2022.
Pat was the first child of 6, born to Thomas Slevin Burns and Violet Marie Burns, née Daniels, on August 17, 1947.
In 1965, Pat graduated from Central High School, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Education was extremely important to her and she continued her education proudly graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Arts of Journalism and her Masters degree in English literature. She was a proud ASU graduate and was still pursuing education at the time of her passing. There Is not a time her family can remember that she wasn’t furthering her education; whether it was through her college courses or taking extra curricular courses to simply expose herself to new learning experiences.
On July 20, 1968 she married her one and only true love William Charles O’Shea in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. They remained married and deeply in love for over 53 years and served as an example to many the true meaning of love and marriage. They proceeded to have two children, Sean Patrick O’Shea and Maureen Theresa O’Shea-Rome (Anthony Rome).
Family was the absolute most important thing in her life. Her husband William, who she loving called Willy, was her best friend and soulmate. She was essential in helping raise her siblings from a very young age and was also a second mother to all of her grandchildren and great granddaughter who coined her Ra in place Grandma and was loving called that by her family and many children in and out of the the family as well.
Pat welcomed everyone into her family and is loved and cherished by many. Many holidays her and Willy would invite others who had no place to celebrate, to their home to enjoy the festivities of holidays. Many friends and family will remember the O’Shea annual St. Patrick’s Day, Halloween and her favorite White Elephant Christmas parties.
Our precious wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend has always been the epitome of generosity, love and kindness. There are absolutely no tribute, or words to describe the loss we are suffering. For those who were blessed to meet Pat, received a gift. Please remember her with happy memories and smile when you think of her.
Services for Pat will be held on Saturday, March 5th, 11:00 am at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, located at 3450 Ray Road, Chandler, AZ 85225, repass to immediately follow in the adult Rec Room.
Pat’s generosity lives on even through her passing. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer’s Association, this was a charity very near and dear to her heart.
