Patricia Tucker Purdy

, 84, of Gilbert, Arizona, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2020, at Mercy Gilbert Hospital after bravely battling many medical conditions and contracting Covid-19. She is survived by her husband Dwight Purdy; daughter, Susan Elizabeth Tucker of Hermosa Beach, CA; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Harlan Stork of Chandler, AZ; and two grandchildren, Cassie Addison Stork, and Carson David Stork.  She is preceded in death by her former husband Ronald Omer Tucker.

Patricia was born in 1936 in Dania, Florida.  She graduated from Ramsay High School in Birmingham, Alabama, in 1954.  After high school, she served in the Civil Air Patrol.  She graduated in 1984 from San Juan College, Farmington, NM, and became a Registered Nurse, one of her proudest accomplishments.  She found nursing to be her life’s calling.  She had a lifelong love of music and any craft project.  Patricia was a talented seamstress and embroiderer.  She also loved cooking, and her recipes were requested over and over.

She loved traveling in the RV with Dwight and especially the adventures and friendships they found with the Salt River Gadabouts.  The last two years she was fortunate to live with Dwight at The Enclave Gilbert, where they enjoyed new friends, special dinners, speakers, happy hours, horse races, Bingo, and painting classes.

Patricia was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood and the Episcopal Church.

Services are being postponed until travel is safe for everyone later in the spring.  Condolences can be sent to Dwight Purdy, care of The Enclave, 4929 South Val Vista Drive, Gilbert, AZ 85298.
