Rachel Hellewell Carlyon
was born on June 19, 1978, to Howard Kevin Hellewell and Beverly Fife Hellewell in Burley, Cassia, Idaho.
She died August 4,
2022,
in their home in Chandler, Maricopa, Arizona.
Rachel grew up in Burley. She attended school

Elementary
, Mountain View, Burley Junior High, and Burley High School. She graduated in 19

6
. She then went to LDS Business College in Salt Lake City. Later she attended Chandler/Gilbert Community
C
ollege where she earned an associate degree in elementary education.
Rachel’s first job was deliver
ing
newspapers for
the
South Idaho Press. She babysat and did other jobs as a youth to earn money. In College she worked at Albertsons and at Deseret Book. Later she worked with special ed kids in an afterschool program
in Mesa
.
Other jobs included working at Bank of America, Amazon, the Rupert Library, and several telemarketing jobs.
While in High School Rachel participated in Business Professionals and
represented her school in accounting at the
State Tournament. She was always good with numbers.
Rachel also learned to play several musical instruments. She started with the violin and piano. Then in Junior High school she joined the band and played the clarinet and the saxophone.

achel’s hobbies include

scrapbooking, reading

crocheting, cross stitching, painting, and journaling.
She loved playing board games and card games with her family.
She loved working on Connie Prince’s Scrapbooking Team and made many beautiful digital scrapbooking pages.
Rachel married David Anthony Carlyon Feb
ruary 26,
2004,
in Chandler Arizona
and was later sealed to him in the Logan Temple on July 28,
2012,
surrounded by
her parents,
all her siblings
,
and many relatives.
As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she had the opportunity to serve in many positions. She loved the time she spent working with the children in the primary and nursery. Her computer skills were put to good use in doing the ward bulletin and weekly newsletter that began during the
pandemic.
She made many beautiful birthday cards for the sisters in Relief Society. She was a faith
ful
visiting teacher and ministering sister.
Rachel had a strong testimony of the gospel and loved the Lord.
She loved studying the scriptures and sharing what she learned with her husband and others.
Rachel remember
ed
fondly the camping trips with family, visits to Arizona to visit grandparents and cousins, and a trip to Canada to visit her great grandmother and other relatives there.
She enjoyed girls camp and special times with her Dad at Daddy/Daughter parties in Primary and white water rafting for High Adventure in Young Womens.
Although Rachel suffered from health problems throughout her life, she stayed optimistic.

children but
adored her nieces and nephews. They were her family.
She helped many others
who suffered
because she understood the trials they were facing. She ha
d
lots of friends.
Rachel is survived by her husband David
Carlyon
, her parents Kevin and Beverly Hellewell, and her siblings Lorraine Wagenman (Seth), John Hellewell (Kiirsi), Scott Hellewell (Nadine)
,
her Grandmother Valeta Fife
,

nieces and

nephews. Rachel has been a friend to all and will be missed.
A memorial service for Rachel will be held in
Orem,
Utah at 5 pm

on August 22,
2022,
at the Church of Jesus Christ of
