Raymond Dale Webb

August 10, 1938 — March 20, 2026

Our dear Raymond Dale Webb passed away early Friday morning March 20, 2026. He had been bedridden for six years and was most anxious to join his brothers and cousins who had preceded him. Raymond was born on August 10, 1938 to Henry Ray Webb and Inza Holliday. His siblings were/are: Darcine Hatch (d), Melbern (d), Darwin (d), Lana Fish, Renee Richey, Rachael Williams, (d ) Sandra Stapley, Jere(d), and Terry.

Raymond grew up in Vernon, Arizona. When he was 13, the family moved to Lakeside where he attended school and worked with his family in the logging and lumbering business.

After high school, Raymond attended ASU before serving his mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the East Central States Mission.

Upon returning, he finished his degree at ASU where he met and married his wife, Jean Reading in the Mesa, Arizona Temple in July of 1963.

Raymond and Jean accepted teaching contracts in Buena Park, California and taught 6th grade for four years. Raymond then took a logging contract from Ft. Apache Timber Company as a partner with Darwin and his Dad.

They moved to Lakeside in 1972 after which Raymond and Jean were able to adopt twin sons, who were the joy of their lives, and later a daughter, Stephannie.

Raymond loved to serve the Lord in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Saints. Over the years, he was a missionary, a Ward and Stake Mission President. He served as a Young Men's Leader, High Counselor, a Counselor in 3 Bishoprics, and finally a Bishop for the Galveston First Ward in Chandler.

After he retired. Raymond and Jean served in the Arizona Tempe Mission as Housing Coordinators. They loved traveling throughout Arizona visiting the missionaries in their homes.

Their family lived in Chandler from 1991 through the present time where they continued to actively serve in the church and taught elementary school, and earned their Master's Degrees from University of Phoenix. Raymond taught in Maricopa and Jean in Tempe Elementary School District. Their twins started college at Mesa Community College, then served Spanish speaking missions. They graduated from ASU and both married while finishing their degrees.

After retirement they enjoyed a little traveling and then bought a home in Snowflake so they could spend time with family and friends in the White Mountains.

In 2020, their sons felt it was time to come home to Chandler for good. Only a few days after their return, Raymond had a stroke which affected his legs and back and rendered him unable to walk or stand. He was bedridden for 6 years. He was so anxious to join his 3 brothers and cousins in heaven, and he finally made it on March 20th.

Raymond was a very loving, hard working person who loved the Lord, the Gospel and his family. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Raymond's funeral will be in Chandler on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at The Church of Jesus of Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1950 W. Galveston Road, Chandler, AZ 85225. A Visitation will be held at 9:00 am with a Funeral Service at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at 3:00 pm at Lakeside Cemetery, 1265 S. Larson Road, Lakeside, AZ 85929.
