It is with deep love and sadness that the family of Roberto S. Quezada, 88, of Gilbert, Arizona, announces his passing on November 15, 2025. Roberto passed peacefully surrounded by family members.

Born on September 19, 1937, Roberto lived a life marked by strength, humility, and unwavering devotion to those he loved, including God and country. He built his life on hard work and quiet determination, and he was known to family and friends as a man who could be counted on—steady, loyal, guided by a deep sense of responsibility, and an incredible sense of humor.

Roberto was a devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, cousin and friend. He took enormous pride in his family. He cherished time spent with his family and the many relatives whose lives he touched with his warmth and laughter. His home was a place of welcome, and the kind of steady love that forms the backbone of a family.

Roberto dedicated 19 years to the Air Force, retiring a TSGT having received many medals for his tours in Vietnam, Korea, and El Salvador. Formally trained as a mechanical engineer, Roberto worked as a communications engineer, where he was admired for his craftsmanship, work ethic, and integrity. Outside of work, he enjoyed golfing, supporting the Catholic church, home projects, and his collies, Pepe and Amigo. He could fix anything. He loved sharing stories, traditions, and moments that brought his family together.

Roberto is survived by his wife of 36 years, Ana Maria, his children – Jack Cooper, Maria Lockridge, Dolores Mears, Roberto Quezada, his grandchildren and great, and his two sisters - Cidha Dougherty and Laura Sansoni. His legacy lives on in the lessons he taught, the example he set, and the love he gave so freely.

A Funeral Service and Celebration of Roberto’s Life will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 2929 E. Pinnacle Peak Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024 with services beginning at 1:30 pm sharp and will conclude at 2:00 pm. A Celebration of Life reception will follow at 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the American Legion Post 107, 20001 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024.

The family wishes to thank the medical staff at Dignity Mercy Hospital in Gilbert, Arizona for their compassionate support.

He was loved for his faith, devotion to his family, love for his country, and a contagious sense of humor.

Con profundo amor y tristeza, la familia de Roberto S. Quezada, de 88 años, de Gilbert, Arizona, anuncia su fallecimiento el 15 de noviembre de 2025. Roberto partió en paz, rodeado de miembros de su familia.

Nacido el 19 de septiembre de 1937, Roberto vivió una vida marcada por la fortaleza, la humildad y una devoción inquebrantable hacia quienes amaba, incluyendo a Dios y a su país. Construyó su vida sobre el trabajo arduo y una determinación silenciosa. Su familia y amigos lo conocían como un hombre en quien siempre se podía confiar: firme, leal, guiado por un profundo sentido de responsabilidad y un increíble sentido del humor.

Roberto fue un padre, abuelo, bisabuelo, hermano, primo y amigo dedicado. Sentía un enorme orgullo por su familia. Atesoraba el tiempo que pasaba con sus seres queridos y con los muchos familiares cuyas vidas tocó con su calidez y su risa. Su hogar era un lugar de bienvenida y del tipo de amor constante que forma la columna vertebral de una familia.

Roberto dedicó 19 años a la Fuerza Aérea, retirándose como TSGT tras recibir numerosas medallas por sus servicios en Vietnam, Corea y El Salvador. Formalmente capacitado como ingeniero mecánico, Roberto trabajó como ingeniero de comunicaciones, donde fue admirado por su habilidad, ética de trabajo e integridad. Fuera del trabajo, disfrutaba del golf, apoyar a la Iglesia Católica, realizar proyectos en el hogar y pasar tiempo con sus collies, Pepe y Amigo. Podía arreglar cualquier cosa. Le encantaba compartir historias, tradiciones y momentos que unieran a su familia.

Roberto deja atrás a su esposa de 36 años, Ana Maria; a sus hijos, Jack Cooper, Maria Lockridge, Roberto Quezada y Dolores Mears; a sus nietos y bisnietos; y a sus dos hermanas, Cidha Dougherty y Laura Sansoni. Su legado perdura en las lecciones que enseñó, el ejemplo que dejó y el amor que entregó tan generosamente.

La servicio funerario y celebración de la vida de Roberto se llevará a cabo el viernes 16, 2026 de enero en el National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 2929 E. Pinnacle Peak Road en Phoenix, AZ 85024, con servicios que comenzarán puntualmente a la 1:30 pm y concluirán a las 2:00 pm. Una recepción en honor a su vida se llevará a cabo de 2:00 pm a 6:00 pm en el American Legion Post 107, 20001 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024.
