Rose Marie Brown, 96, of Chandler, Arizona, passed away peacefully at home with family by her side.
She was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the sixth of seven children. On June 23, 1950, she married her best friend, R. Earl Brown. Together they made many homes and friends across the United States, spending most of their years in Ohio, Wyoming and Arizona.
Rose was a very (very!) competitive card player. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, camping, and was a self proclaimed golfer’s widow. She and Earl loved traveling, where she excelled in the sport of haggling. Creative with sewing and crochet, she shared her talents with her children, leaving behind cherished memories and treasures.
She is survived by her children Kathy (George) Adams, Nancy (Melvin) Cain, Russell (Debra) Brown and Emily (Brad) Miller; 8 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years and her siblings.
A graduate of Central High School in Fort Wayne, Rose worked in several secretarial positions and generously volunteered her time in hospitals and with Meals on Wheels.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 6, at 10:00 a.m. at Sun Lakes United Methodist Church, followed by coffee and cookies.
