Rosemary Neuenschwander

August 2, 1945 – July 11, 2022

Rosemary Neuenschwander “Rosie” was lifted up to heaven, as the sun was rising on July 11, 2022. She was at home, at peace and surrounded by love. We honor her life today by sharing her story…. Rosie was born in Shoemaker, NM to Scotty Helm and Elizabeth Gentry Helm, as one of 7 children. Her Mom passed away when she was very young, but Rosie cherished her brief memories that were triggered by the smell of a warm kitchen or fresh cut flowers.

After spending several years in a broken foster care system, Rosie found her way to Farmington, NM where she met and married Steve Neuenschwander “Honey”, at the age of 19. From the moment they met her life was filled with more love and adventure than she could have ever imagined. This year they celebrated 56 years of marriage.

Together Rosie & Honey did it all. They cruised main street in their tricked-out muscle car, danced the twist and hand jive at the disco, beat everyone at the drag races with Rosie behind the wheel, took an “easy rider” trip on their Harley with a thousand other bikers to protest at the capital in Santa Fe, NM, spent summers camping at national parks in their motorhome, sailed the Caribbean several times, learned to fly their own plane, ran a family business, picked green chili with her sister’s family in Hatch, took countless snow ski trips and made Lake Powell a magical place filled with memories.

In all her life adventures, Rosie’s greatest joy was being a mom and grandma and WOW, she was amazing at that. She raised her family in Chandler and there she opened her home and her heart not only to her family but to many more. It didn’t matter if you were a neighbor, friend or if you just sat next to her at a baseball or volleyball game — she was Momma Rosie. We will miss her yummy cooking, we will miss her beautiful Christmas tree, we will miss hearing her call us “sweetie” but most of all we will miss her. May the doors of heaven open wide for our beautiful,

sweet Rosie.

Rosie is survived by her husband Steve, daughter Tulli & husband John, son Rick & wife Shannon, her grandchildren Piper, Reese, Taylor, Hannah, Thomas and 3 great grandchildren, along with her sister Ina Mendez. May her memory live strong through all of them. Please join us as we honor and celebrate the life of Rosemary Neuenschwander, just before her 77th birthday, on Monday, August 1st at the Ocotillo Clubhouse, located at 3751 S. Clubhouse Drive, Chandler, AZ 85248, from 4-6pm (open house). Casual attire, please.
