SAGE VINCENT FIGUEROA, 48, of Mesa Arizona, unexpectedly passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026.
Our beloved Sage, returned into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father and many awaiting family members.
Sage started his mortal journey on February 9,1978, in Mesa, Arizona. He was welcomed to this earthly life by his parents, Ernie and Kayle Figueroa, and his 6 other siblings. He would be number 7 of 9 children.
He was the loving husband of Dana Michelle Figueroa, and the proud father of Kayli Shane and Sage Ernie (Buddy), whom he loved dearly and with his whole heart.
Sage grew up a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had a firm knowledge that he is a son of God. His mortal life was a testament of his love for Jesus Christ and others as he daily served everyone around him including family, friends, and neighbors. He frequently made personal visits to check up on someone to discern what was needed. He was the first one to make a phone call when he heard of someone who was ill, troubled, or having hardships. Almost daily Sage was found showing up somewhere in his neighborhood with his tools to repair what was broken or dragging his lawnmower over to help a neighbor when he saw a need for yardwork. He will always be remembered by any who knew him as one who had a natural ability to see the needs of those around him and was the first one to respond when he recognized the needs. Above all, Sage loved to serve his family. He would do anything for his family, his parents, and his siblings.
Sage grew up in Tempe, AZ, attending school at Kyrene de Cielo, Mariposa, Kyrene Middle School, and graduating from Corona Del Sol High School in 1996. He participated in many sports during his high school years, but his favorite was football. His love of football continued after his graduation as he attended Scottsdale Community College where he was a member of the football team. He later played on the Mojo flag football team and with the AzFL AZ Football League on the Headhunters team for several years.
Sage had a love for swimming, beach cruisers, hunting with his brothers and nephews, and vacationing with Dana and the kids. He loved being outdoors. One of his favorite pastimes was lounging in his hammock with Kayli and Sage, Jr. Sage always had a dog or two. He considered them a part of his family. He once wrote a paper at school about the family dog, Ebony.
At the time of his passing, Sage was employed as a Low-Voltage Systems Technician. He was an expert in anything from alarms and security, installation and cabling, installing and configuring surveillance systems, and smart home technology. Through his hard work and dedication over the years, Sage was promoted to Lead Technician and oversaw large commercial projects. He was very proud of that title.
Sage is survived by his wife, Dana, and his children, Kayli and Sage, Jr., his step-children, Breonna and Mark Licandro, and Dylan and Rosa Kinney, his step-grandchildren, Kinsley Cheryl, Luca, James, Lorenzo, and Rose, who lovingly called Sage “Lolo”, his mother, Kayle Figueroa, his siblings, Cory (Jerilyn) Figueroa, Josh (Linda) Figueroa, Chance Figueroa, Kalli (Scott) Duncan, Zachary (Teresa) Figueroa, Wisti (Alan) Wooden, Britni (Sione) Fa, Roxxi (Triumph) Curiel, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins that he loved dearly. Sage was preceded in death by his father, Ernie Figueroa, and his nephew Shane Figueroa.
Sage was blessed to belong to an incredibly committed, supportive, and loving extended family. Sage will be sorely missed. He is separated from us for a while, but we know he is with our Heavenly Father and other family members who welcomed him home with great joy. We know there is a plan that allows families to be together forever. Our family will hold onto this belief until we are together again.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at the LDS Church, 1950 W. Galveston, Chandler, AZ 85224, from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. Funeral services will be following at 11:00 a.m. at the same location. Interment will be at the City of Mesa Cemetery. Whitney & Murphy Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dana’s Venmo account. @Dana-Figueroa-77.
