Shelton Ray Woods, 56, passed away on July 13, 2025. He was born on June 4, 1969, in Phoenix, Arizona to Peggy Lee Woods and Ray Banks.

Shelton grew up in Chandler, Arizona, where he attended Chandler Public Schools and was raised in a large, close-knit family. He was especially close to his two brothers, as well as to his aunts, uncles, and cousins—many of whom felt more like siblings than relatives.

As a kid, Shelton had a deep love for sports and played football, basketball, and baseball with intensity and joy. That passion stayed with him, especially when it came to supporting his own children.

Shelton was known for his big personality. He was loud, boisterous, and full of life—you could hear him coming from down the block. He made friends easily and carried a magnetic presence that drew people in. From Chandler to Phoenix to cities across the state, Shelton touched lives and left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

He was a proud and devoted father to three children: Cameron Ray Woods, Alexa Rae Woods, and Jaelyn Re Woods. He loved them fiercely and could often be heard bragging about their accomplishments. Shelton especially loved cheering on Cameron at football games—his sideline support was impossible to miss. He also cherished taking family trips, with San Diego, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas among his favorite destinations.

Shelton is survived by his children, Cameron, Alexa, and Jaelyn; his brothers, Dondi Wheaton and Shaft Willis; and a wide network of extended family and lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Lee Woods; his father, Ray Banks; and his nephew, Erick Wheaton.

A Visitation will be held Friday, August 1, 2025 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Whitney & Murphy Bueler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet Drive, Chandler, AZ 85225. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 2, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Whitney & Murphy Bueler Mortuary.
