Stephanie Vela Rojas
With great sorrow and bittersweet gratitude, the Vela and Rojas families announce the passing of our kind, brave and loving wife, daughter, sister, and friend. After a fearless battle with ALS, Stephanie Vela Rojas, 49, of Raleigh North Carolina ascended with our heavenly Father on March 17, 2023.
Stephanie was born to Esteban and Joyce Vela on July 9, 1973, in Chandler AZ.
After graduating from Chandler High in 1991, Stephanie earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at Arizona State University. Having worked for 16 years in the Telecom industry she decided to pursue a newfound adventure. In doing so, both she and her husband became successful business owners with the introduction of Morfa to the food truck industry.
Throughout her move from Arizona to living in North Carolina, Stephanie met many wonderful friends along the way, including her husband Ale, the love of her life. She enjoyed playing volleyball, softball, being outdoors, working on her cars, and spending time with friends and family making North Carolina her home.
Stephanie is survived by her husband Alejandro Rojas, her parents Esteban Vela Jr. and Joyce Vela, her sister Laurie Vela, and her brother Esteban “Brother” Vela III.
A Visitation will be held Thursday, April 27, 2023, from 5:30 – 8:00 pm with a Rosary at 6:00 pm at Whitney & Murphy Bueler Chapel, 14 W. Hulet Drive, Chandler, AZ 85225.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023, at 11:00 am at St. Mary’s Parish, 230 W. Galveston Street, Chandler, AZ 85225.
Inurnment will follow at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, 1562 E. Baseline Road, Mesa, AZ 85204.
