Terry Allan Pearo

It is with the heaviest heart that I share the passing of my beloved father, Terry Pearo. 

As many of you know, he saved me when I was seven years old and raised me on his own. He taught me to always be a person of my word and would often remind me, “Trust takes years to build and only a moment to lose.” He lived by that principle every day. Everything good in me comes from him. He was honest, loyal, and kind, a man whose integrity spoke louder than words. 

After working for the same company for decades, he discovered a passion for scuba diving and underwater photography. The ocean became his second home. He would often call me, his voice full of excitement, to tell me stories about his dives and the breathtaking world beneath the surface. In 2010, a motorcycle accident left him with a traumatic brain injury that changed his life forever. What he missed most afterward was the ability to dive. He often reminisced about his underwater adventures and held on to those memories with deep love and longing. Though he never returned to the sea, the ocean always remained in his heart. 

After his accident, I became his caretaker and moved him from California so I could be close and look after him. He found so much joy in being near his granddaughters, Avery and Leah, and nothing made him prouder than being their Grandpa. He was most proud, above all, to be my dad.The pain of losing him is immeasurable. He was a good man, loved by everyone who knew him, and his absence leaves a void that can never be filled. 

He is survived by his daughter Danielle,, his granddaughters Avery and Leah, Danielle’s sister Victoria who he always viewed as a daughter, his brother Michael, and his sisters Karen and Kathy.

I will be taking him on one final sailboat ride into the sunset, where he will be reunited with the deep blue, beautiful ocean he loved so dearly. 

He will be missed and loved every single day for the rest of my life.
