Thomas E Streed

Thomas E. Streed, much loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. 

Tom was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on April 28, 1945. He grew up in Northeast Minneapolis and graduated from Edison High School in 1963. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1968. He went on to earn his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Minnesota, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. 

In 1966, Tom married Andrea LaBore, beginning a lifetime of love, family, and shared adventures. Together, they raised two children, Jennifer and William (Bill). In 1989, Tom and Andrea moved to Arizona, where they continued to build a wonderful life together. After a successful career in electrical engineering, Tom retired in 2011. 

Tom had a passion for exploring. He traveled extensively in Europe and proudly visited 49 of the 50 United States. Whether discovering new destinations, enjoying a round of golf, camping, or taking daily walks with the family’s dogs, Tom appreciated life’s adventures and simple pleasures.

 Above all, Tom cherished his family. He especially enjoyed being a grandfather to his four grandsons, Tyler, Adam, Owen, and Griffin. 

Tom is survived by his loving wife, Andrea; children, Jennifer and Bill; four grandsons, Tyler, Adam, Owen, and Griffin; sister, Janice Olsen; niece, Beth; nephew, Ross; and many cousins and extended family members. 

Tom will be remembered for his love of family, golf, travel, and the many memories he created with those who knew and loved him. 

A Celebration of Tom’s life will be held at Mt. View Lutheran Church at 11002 S. 48th Street Phoenix, AZ 85044 on Saturday, November 7, 2026. Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. with a service at 12:00 P.M., followed by lunch at 12:45 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to St. Mary’s Food Bank, St. Vincent de Paul or a charity of your choice in Tom’s memory.
