In Loving Memory Of

 Tom Wiatt

March 27, 1948 – August 28, 2025

Tom Wiatt, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family after a 12-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was 77 years old.

Born on March 27, 1948, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Tom was the son of Ann and Leonard Wiatt. His life was marked by deep love, hard work, and a giving spirit that touched everyone he met.

In 1964, Tom met the love of his life, Shirley, and together they began a beautiful journey as high school sweethearts. He graduated in 1966 and went to trade school to be a Tool and Die Maker. Tom and Shirley were married on November 11, 1968, and celebrated 56 years of marriage—a legacy built on mutual respect, laughter, and love.

Tom and Shirley, along with their sons Scott and Jeff, made the move to Arizona in 1978, where Tom's passion for family and craftsmanship flourished. A proud and involved father, he served as a Cub Scout leader and baseball coach, always present and supportive in his boys’ lives. He loved working with his hands and had an incredible talent for building and creating. Whether it was rebuilding cars, constructing a boat, or wood working, Tom's artistry and craftsmanship is what he was known for.

After retiring from a successful career as a lineman with the phone company, Tom pursued his passion full-time, starting a woodworking business that became both a personal and professional success.

Tom was known for his sense of humor, his generous heart, and his deep love for his family. His legacy continues through his wife Shirley; sons Scott (Sharla) and Jeff (Christi); grandchildren Courtney, Brett, and Davey; and great-grandchildren Jesse, Jasen, Joey, and Sadie Grace.

Tom’s humor, creativity, and kindness left a lasting mark on all who had the honor of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
