Tony Joe Bate
, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and dear friend passed away peacefully at the age of 51 on Friday afternoon November 5
th
, 2021.
Born January 11, 1970, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to Craig and Joyce Bate. He attended elementary school in Atlanta Georgia, middle and high school in Cottonwood Heights, Utah. Tony loved to go fast, whether on a skateboard, BMX bike, fast-cart, or skis; but he fed his need for speed best by racing motocross. Tony also excelled in sports. He enjoyed being the MVP of practically every team he played on and upon graduating from Mt. Vernon High School; he was offered a full-ride scholarship to play baseball.
Tony married and divorced at an early age and was blessed with his son, Tyson who also had a craving for speed like his father. These two would spend hours upon hours together racing fast-cart and were best friends. Tony owned a painting business, but soon after found a passion for bodybuilding and traveled the country competing and working as a fitness gym manager and personal trainer. Tony’s fun, positive, kind, and passionate personality resonated with everyone who knew him. While in Chicago, Tony met his sweetheart and sole-mate, in the gym, of course, Shianne Behan. Tony and Shianne quickly became the talk of the town wherever they went. They not only made a cute couple, but they were unstoppable as fitness training partners.
After some travel, they settled in Gilbert, Arizona. Here Tony continued to enjoy life as a trainer and custom cabinet painter, but Tony also went back to his roots, riding motocross on a regular basis with a little golf mixed in here and there. Tony was living the dream! Then in 2017, Tony lost his only son Tyson. Tony suffered greatly for his loss and continually longed to be with him again someday. Those survived by Tony, are comforted to know that he has now been able to join his son, Tyson, his sister Dawn and his dear parents. We are sure that he eagerly awaits his companion Shianne to join him for eternity. His love and care for everyone he came in contact with will forever be remembered.
