Will Dallas Brooks

Will Dallas Brooks, lovingly known as Bill, was born on November 10, 1945, in Prescott, Arizona, and passed away on July 16, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of service, adventure, faith, and devotion to family.

Bill's roots in Chandler ran deep. His paternal grandparents moved to Chandler from Blevins, Arkansas, in 1915. After spending a brief time in Prescott, where Bill was born, his family returned to Chandler in 1947. There, he spent most of his life and made a lasting impact on the community he loved.

From a young age, Bill embraced life with enthusiasm, curiosity, and a healthy dose of mischief. As the first boy among four older sisters, he brought excitement and adventure to the Brooks household, keeping his parents on their toes.

Bill attended Cleveland Elementary School and Chandler Junior High School before graduating from Chandler High School in 1963. During his high school years, he was a dedicated student-athlete and active participant in school activities. He played football for four years, ran track for two years, participated in Future Farmers of America (FFA) for three years, and was a proud member of the Chandler High School Lettermen's Club.

Following graduation, Bill attended Pasadena College in California, where he met the love of his life, Lynne. They married and built a life centered on faith, family, and community. Bill later attended Mesa Community College, where he earned a degree in Business.

Bill's professional career reflected his strong work ethic and natural ability to connect with people. He began working as a salesman for Arizona Pet Supplies in Chandler in 1965. In 1968, he accepted a position in program management at Motorola's Scottsdale facility. After graduating from the Cecil Lawter School of Real Estate, he joined Brooks Realty in 1972 and became a member of the Mesa-Tempe-Chandler Board of Realtors.

In 1974, Bill stepped away from real estate to help his brother-in-law operate Vance Farms during a serious illness. His willingness to support family in times of need was a hallmark of his character. In 1980, he joined Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company, beginning a career in the title industry that would span nearly four decades. He remained in the title business until his retirement in 2019.

Throughout his life, Bill was deeply committed to serving both his church and his community. His contributions to Chandler were numerous and meaningful. He served as president of the Nazarene Young People's Society, was a devoted member of the Chandler Church of the Nazarene, chaired the City of Chandler Planning and Zoning Commission, and was a founding member of the Chandler Historical Society. He also served as president of the Chandler Rotary Club, participated on the City of Chandler Awards Committee, ran for Mayor of Chandler in 1988, he was one of the founding members of Chandler Compadres, where he served as a past president. His passion for civic engagement and community service left a lasting mark on Chandler and touched countless lives.

When he wasn't working or volunteering, Bill could usually be found pursuing his many passions. He loved hunting, fishing, riding his Harley, exploring desert trails on dirt bikes, and four-wheeling in his Jeep. During the last seven years of his life, he developed a special love for Rocky Point, Mexico, where he embraced the culture, the people, and the beauty of the region. Whether traveling the world with his beloved siblings and children or setting out on a simple local adventure, Bill never passed up an opportunity to explore and create lasting memories.

Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lynne Brooks; his parents, Dallas and Frances Brooks; his sisters, Joanna Dipple, Oneta Vance, and Marjorie Barnum; his brothers-in-law, Johnny Vance, Jim Cullumber, and Joe Ells; and his sister-in-law, Lee Brooks.

He is survived by his loving children, Brent Brooks (Bonnie), Devin Moreno (Mario), and Scott Brooks; his cherished grandchildren, Alex Brooks (Amber), Ashley Brooks, Tatum Brooks, Brenna Mae Brooks, and Jillian Moreno; and his two great-grandchildren, Dallas and Charlie Brooks. He also leaves behind nineteen nieces and nephews, along with numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart.

Above all else, Bill loved his family with his whole heart. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, mentor, and community leader. His kindness, generosity, adventurous spirit, and unwavering commitment to those he loved will be remembered for generations.

Bill leaves behind a profound legacy through his service to his church, his dedication to the Chandler community, and, most importantly, the love he shared with his family. He lived a full and colorful life, and while our lives are forever changed by his passing, we are grateful for the countless memories, lessons, and love he leaves behind.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Service will be held on Monday, July 27th, 2026 at 10:00am at Chandler Church of the Nazarene, 301 N. Hartford St., Chandler, AZ 85225, reception to follow.
