William M. Spence Jr.

Arizona attorney William M Spence, Jr., a man of faith, family, charity and the pursuit of justice has passed on. Mr. Spence worked in the practice of law and governance in Arizona for 47 years serving as an attorney, a Judge Pro-Tem, and as the director of Community Legal Services. In addition to his years in legal practice, Mr. Spence worked alongside his friends in the Ojo Rojo Lions Club providing glasses and access to eye care for the underprivileged. Mr. Spence was also active in the Saguaro Masonic Lodge of Phoenix. Mr. Spence served as board member and legal counsel for The International New Thought Alliance as well as having an active role in Unity Church of Phoenix and later with the United Methodist Church of Gilbert helping to spread the word of God which he held so dear. Mr. Spence had a love for his community and espoused and embodied the importance of giving selflessly to those without. Mr. Spence was loved and cherished by his family and friends alike. He is survived by his spouse Millie, his six children; Mary Charlaine, William III, Sallie, Christopher, Jason and John and his 20 grandchildren. He is also survived by his two sisters Joanne Noble and Sandra Maxey, nieces and nephews Pete, Lori, Glenn, Jennifer, and Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his mother Vera Harris, his father Nathaniel Joseph Wesson, his sister Marilyn Spence, and his nephew Kenneth Maxey, Jr.

The memory of his life and the impact he had on so many will echo in the hearts of those who knew him.

Anyone who would like to attend is welcome. My father touched many lives in his time on this earth and we welcome all who would wish to celebrate his life with us.

The Memorial will be held Saturday July 15th 2017 at 10 AM.
