William Patrick Dennehy (Bill)

passed to be with Our Lord on April 29

at the age of 92,

surrounded by his loving family. Bill, was one of five children born to Edward and Anna

Dennehy on April 22, 1926 in Danbury, CT. He is predeceased by his sister Margret

Sholtes, brothers Edward and Jeremiah and survived by brother Francis Dennehy of

Danbury, CT

Upon graduation from High School, Bill enlisted in the army and was sent to Germany

joining the 29

th

Infantry Division. He was most proud to be able to serve his country.

Returning home he received a B.S. degree from the University of Bridgeport in CT and

was employed by the California Texas Oil Company and spent two years in Indonesia.

After returning to the U.S. he was employed by ITT Rayonier Inc. in NYC and

subsequently became a Product Line Comptroller.

He married his wife Barbara in 1958 and settled in Valhalla, NY where the couple raised

their three children; daughter Ann Freeburg, son-in-law William Freeburg, son William

Dennehy Jr. , daughter -in-law Lauraine Dennehy and son Matthew Dennehy, daughter –

in- law Kathy Dennehy. He adored his eight loving grandchildren, Marley and Erin

Freeburg, Shannon and Katie Dennehy and Ryan, James, Cameron and Sabrina Dennehy.

Upon retirement, Bill and his wife Barbara moved to Sun Lakes in 1998. They enjoyed

their time traveling around the world, playing golf and tennis and yearly vacations and

time with their children and grandchildren.

Bill was a loving and caring man who will be deeply missed by all of his family and the

friends he touched in his lifetime.

His Funeral Service will be held on Friday June 1, 10:00 am at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Sun Lakes. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
