Winifred Joann Stoker

Winifred JoAnn Stoker

began her eternal life on November 24, 2021, at the age of 86. She was greeted by her husband George “Bud”, son Lloyd, daughter Trenda Gomez, father Howard, mother Rita, brothers Tom, Bill, Jim, and Robert, and great-niece, Julia Quin.

JoAnn was born August 12, 1925, in Muncie, Indiana, and it was there that she fell in love with “the greatest thing that happened to me”, as she would say.   As a devoted military wife, 20 years were dedicated to traveling to different adventures and creating life-long friendships.  It was at Ramstein AFB, Germany that she and Bud found their group of friends that would come to retire in Arizona, as well.

After retirement from the Air Force, JoAnn began her award-winning career at Basha’s Markets and later went on to own her own delicatessen Jo’s Brown Bagger.  Many of her close friendships came from her love of bowling and volunteering at church where she was a member of the Altar Society and St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Those of us who remain here to carry on her memories include her daughters, Seria Gardner, Laura Ferguson (Roger son-in-law), Ray Gomez (Trenda dec.). Grandchildren: Jeremi Stoker (Krista) JoAnna Bragg (Josh), Amanda (John), Tirscha Gomez, Levi Ferguson, Dominic Gomez (Shannon), Patrick Sandoval (Tiffany), Tiana Dopp (Josh), Aaron Sandoval (Brandy), Kahlia Ferguson (Pat) and Hunter Ferguson. Thirteen great-grands, niece Datra Quin (Paul), a great-niece, and great-nephew.

Her stories of her childhood and family shenanigans were a source of great entertainment.  They will be held dear to us and greatly missed.

We love you always—
