Zoilo Rodriguez Sr., age 55, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2025, with his loving family by his side. Born in Newburgh, New York, on April 26, 1970, Zoilo lived a life defined by love, laughter, and deep compassion for those around him.
He dedicated many years to his work at NYSUT, where he made lasting connections and brought warmth and integrity to his profession.
Zoilo was the beloved son of Bacilio and Paula Rodriguez, who preceded him in death, as well as his brother Juan Rodriguez of Newburgh, NY.
He is survived by his cherished son, Zoilo Rodriguez Jr. of Mesa, Arizona. Their bond was strong and filled with deep love, admiration, and friendship. Being a father was Zoilo's greatest joy and his proudest role in life.He is also survived by his loving siblings, Migdalia Rodriguez - Dorado, Puerto Rico, Ramon Rodriguez - Newburgh, NY, and Mirilyn Rodriguez-Astacio - Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
Zoilo shared a unique and special connection with his sister Mirilyn, serving as godfather to all of her children-a role he embraced with heartfelt love and pride.
Known for his joyful nature, Zoilo often brought laughter to his nieces and nephews through phone calls and video chats. He had a gentle soul and a generous heart.
A lover of words and nature, Zoilo recently fulfilled a lifelong dream by publishing his first poetry book. His passion for writing and long reflective walks brought him peace and joy.
His legacy is one of love, creativity, and connection. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
