Jessie Raymond Baker, 88, of Sun Lakes, Arizona, passed on July 5, 2026, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Born in Madisonville, Tennessee, to Raymond and Tina Baker, Jess lived a life defined by dedication, generosity, and a love for family and friends. He received a full scholarship from Kemper Insurance to attend the University of Tennessee, where he earned a degree in Business. After completing his education, Jess proudly served in the National Guard while beginning his career with Kemper Insurance.

Following graduation, Jess began his career with Kemper Insurance, where he remained throughout his entire professional life. Through hard work, integrity, and exceptional leadership, he rose through the ranks to become the personal lines Midwest Division Manager. After a distinguished career, he accepted early retirement at the age of 58.

Retirement allowed Jess to enjoy the things he loved most. He and his beloved wife, Shirley, cherished traveling together and creating lasting memories as they explored new places. They also loved entertaining, opening their home to family and friends for parties and gatherings filled with laughter, good food, and great conversation. Jess was an avid golfer, enjoyed watching virtually every sporting event imaginable, loved playing cards with family and friends, and developed a passion for fine wine. Those who knew Jess knew there was always a reason to celebrate whenever Jess and Shirley were hosting.

Above all, Jess treasured his family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley Baker.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Kristen Michelle Earll and Kellie Baker Brannon; his grandchildren, Andrew Robert Brannon, Conner Raymond Brannon, Parker Lee Brannon, Hannah Nicole Malchus, and Hayden Michael Earll; and his first great-granddaughter, Cecilia Mari Brannon. The family finds comfort in knowing that Jess has been reunited with the love of his life, Shirley, and that his memory will continue to inspire those who were blessed to know him.
